Hello Hi League Families! Tomorrow our regular hang out will end at 7:00, because we'll leave for the youth retreat around 7:30. If you're signed up for the youth retreat, you should have received a separate email from Liz; if you didn't please let her know! Also coming up is the 2019 Godstock High School Youth Gathering! It's a great weekend event held at the Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire. See below for more details and to sign up. It's a great event for all hi leaguers to consider attending! We need youth helpers for our Sunday School Reformation Party on Friday, Oct. 18th from 5:30-7:30 (helpers arrive at 5:00 if they can). Please sign up here or on the app! Oct. 25th the High Leaguers will be headed to Jim's Apple Farm & Valley Scare! At Jim's the kids can explore & purchase candy/root beer/apple stuff, then go to Valley Scare after. We'll get home late, so kids will have the option of staying at church to sleep with pick up at 8:00 the next morning. Cost is $35, which covers the ticket, parking & gas. Pay what you can. We'll stop for dinner on the way, or you can also pack a dinner. Sign up here by Oct. 20th. You can also sign up on the app under the Youth>Upcoming Events tab.  Wednesday, Oct. 9th 5:30-7:00 Hang Out 7:30 Depart for Luther Point Bible Camp for the Youth Retreat Sunday, Oct. 13th 9:00 Worship with your family Wednesday, Oct. 16th 6:00-8:00 FUEL We'll play our annual game of Romans & Christians! This is a game that we play outside in the dark, so it's important to wear warm clothing as well as tennis shoes. We'll have dinner at Camp Wapo in the dining hall starting at 6:00 (bring $5 for that if you can), and then we'll play Romans & Christians! Pick up is 8:00. Hang Out 8:00-9:30 Fall Youth Retreat October 9-11 | Luther Point Bible Camp Every fall our Confirmation and Hi League kids venture up to Luther Point Bible Camp near Grantsburg, WI for a retreat. There is no school Thursday or Friday, so we'll leave after class on Wednesday night (about 7:00/30) and come back home Friday afternoon (about 2:00/30). Kids often say this is their favorite event of the year, so we highly encourage it! We'll do low ropes challenge course, learn archery, play Jam Ball, canoe, & more! October 18th | 5:30-7:30 1st-5th graders are welcome to come to our first Friday Night Party of the year, and we need youth to help out! We'll talk about ol' Martin Luther--founder of the Lutheran church--and play some games, too! And dinner will be more than just a Diet of Worms (<--that's a Lutheran joke, right there). We'll eat dinner, learn, and party! Don't forget to invite friends! Sign up here or on the FLC App under the Sunday School tab. Hurricane Hike October 20th | During Worship & Sunday School All church youth will walk around Amery to raise awareness & funds for hurricane relief in the Bahamas. Wear your First Lutheran t-shirts (over your sweatshirts & coats!), bring strollers & wagons, and lace up your walkin' shoes! We'll leave after the children's sermon in worship & hike around town. Sunday schoolers should bring their offering boxes to worship. Jim's Apple Farm & Valley Scare October 25th | Leave church at 3:00 Hi Leaguers are invited to go on a trip to Jim's Apple Farm in Shakopee, MN to explore and buy some goodies, then we'll head to Valley Scare. We'll be home late, so kids are welcome to sleep at church and be picked up at 8:00 the next morning. Sign up by Oct. 20th. Cost is $35 + dinner/Jim's $$. Pay what you can. Confirmation Sunday October 27 | During Worship Attend worship and celebrate the confirmation of our 9th grade confirmands!  Feed My Starving Children November 2nd | 9:30-2:45 | 11:00-12:30 shift Join your church family as we volunteer at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids, MN! Grab a friend, invite a neighbor, and sign up today! We hope to send a group of 25. You must be able to stand for 2 hours. Minimum age is 5; an adult must accompany kids in grades K-2. We will caravan from church at 9:30 and arrive home about 2:45.
